well, actually, i also dun know how to put it into words
u see, 2 days ago, my project team wanted to put up a paper for approval
then i went thru it and commented according to the template
but i always felt tt must mentioned something which was granted earlier
but after debating with myself, i decided to let it go
why?
coz the template dun have mah
so why be gay qiang rite

2 days later, i gotten the signed copy
passed to SB and wa kao!! NO NO NO!!
rejected and i told the team to amend accordingly to SB's comments and seek signature again
kana bua by team "then why didn't u ask us to include it in earlier? do u know i gotten the signature le and now u want me to amend?"
"well. sorry....what can i do...i commented according to the template, no wrong rite? then boss wants change, what am i supposed to do abt it?"
seriously, am i wrong???....well maybe...

so anyway, she amended and this morning, when i saw the revision, i decided to DIY instead
i further amended the paper based on my own instinct
and then i forwarded back for further comments
and she immediately called me on the phone "why did u change it drastically!! i come down see u now"
she came and i explained why i needed it to be amended to tt way
every pt which i raised she has some excuses to shoot it down

1) its clearer if we break it down. = no need lah. my bosses know the story. tts why in the first place they signed the paper, its u guys who now wanted it amended. so i just amend to suit you.
2) fine, then what abt when being audit? who will remember? i mean, if one day u r not ard? u mean ur bosses will remember meh? = dun worry lah. if really being audited, the bosses will know de
3) i think u should rephrase this portion coz its like one whole chunk of words. i think we should simplify to like this. what u think? = no lah. i think its clearly stated mah. why its like this and then link to tt

argued for a few mins...i decided....no pt talking to a wall
totally speechless to me
and i dun feel like aruging anymore
coz if she dun amend, my boss will not get it sign
so what did i do?
i went "fine. ok. we will put everything back as per ur revision and let's go see my boss and sort it out"

and i printed out the draft and together we went to see the boss
sure enough, the comments she made was what i mentioned earlier which was like what? fall on deaf ears....but this time she went "ok. can, i amend for you."
wa kao!!
see lah...i say she has 101 excuses, my boss said she diam diam accept.
she did not even rebutt her back lor
tts the difference bah.......

really thinks tt some ppl just skin itchy......

anyway she was quite nice too
coz when boss commented tt the portion got a whole chunk of words and asked me to go amend it, she immediately jumped out and said "not her fault. i wrote de"
but boss still went "its ok. let her use her english to summarise this whole para"
which i have in actual fact told her so but she did not want to coz she claimed its clearer this way......and she did not said so to my boss
FINE!! coz at least she stood up!! thanks friend!!

and then, part of it, was due to my own mistake
i should have insisted tt they include tt portion instead of letting it go....no initiative?? i dun know....maybe tts me
just do what i am suppose to do, and nothing more
just do it...dun ask....
template said like this, so its like this, nothing more
sigh

but its ok....learn from it...
afterall, i was told tt the paper was supposed to be written by them, and we just check on the impt para and clauses....we dun bother abt other's english or the way the phrase it, coz tts their own issue...if their boss dun understand then too bad...they need to explain till their bosses understood........and seriously, we are afterall not an english teacher......and my ang mo!! OMG!!!

R was telling us and all agreed with both hands and feet up in the air...if we were to go into such details....then we surely have many outstanding work lying on our desk.....nothing will ever moves........

from where i came from......this paper is not even under my purview.........never once under my care......its the team who supposed to do not us........
well, different mgt style....boss wants us to be responsible for EVERYTHING...which i personally feel....how can........

everybody has their own duties
such duties got to draw very clear lines de
just like a teacher can be a tutor but a tutor cannot be a teacher (coz u need to have the proper qualifications to be a teacher by MOE)
a bus driver cannot be a taxi driver...taxi driver cannot be bus driver (coz the licence is different)

sigh
when will ppl wake up and be responsible for their own job
